Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about starting therapy with Verity.
What can I expect in the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and see if working together feels right for you. We’ll discuss what brings you to therapy, your history, and what you hope to gain from our time together.
How long is each therapy session?
Standard individual therapy sessions last for 50 minutes. This provides a focused space for deep exploration while maintaining a sustainable rhythm for your week.
What are the fees for therapy?
Sessions are charged at £55 and payable by bank transfer, we can discuss this during your initial enquiry. I also offer a limited number of reduced-rate slots for students or those on a lower income.
Do you offer online or in-person sessions?
I offer both. In-person sessions take place at The Practice Rooms in Sheffield City Centre. Online sessions are conducted via Google Meets, available to individuals across the UK.
Who do you work with?
I work with adults aged 16 and over. I am experienced in supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, including members of the LGBTQ+ community and neurodivergent individuals.
How many sessions will I need?
Therapy is a personal journey, and there is no set number of sessions. Some people find short-term work (6-12 sessions) helpful, while others prefer open-ended therapy for deeper exploration.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations. Sessions cancelled with less notice will be charged at the full rate, as that time has been specifically reserved for you.
